MEET THE ARTIST ~
Sally England is a fiber artist living and working in Ojai, California. Raised in the Midwest, she received her B.A. in Communication Arts from Grand Valley State University in West Michigan, and later attended PNCA’s Applied Craft & Design MFA program in Portland, Oregon. Her fiber art and sculptural work aims to reflect the past into the future. She uses traditional handwork techniques to create modern forms inspired by symbology, architecture, and the human connection to nature. Using only her two hands as tools, she works primarily from muscle memory in an almost meditative state.
Constantly evolving and exploring new materials, she is currently working on personal projects and custom commissions for private collections. Her installations and wall sculptures have been presented in exhibitions and environments in the U.S. and abroad and in numerous online and print journals like Sight Unseen, Dwell, Architectural Digest, and The Wall Street Journal.
