This type of fabric is often seen in India and is widely used for cargo bags and storage. We have never found any surplus of this material in good enough condition to repurpose or in a good combination of colors. One day, we saw very large and vibrant storage bags hauling goods through the airport in Mumbai that were in a striped pattern. It took us a year a half to find a factory that would make exactly what we saw and produce this pattern of fabric by using recycled plastic.

Material: Woven Recycled Plastic, Aluminum Handle with Recycled Plastic Tubing. Due to the nature of the PVC material, the handle may soften and become sticky at high temperatures.

Since its founding in Japan in 2007, the brand has operated on the premise that the most interesting materials are those that already have a life behind them.  Puebco works with salvaged and reclaimed sources — recycled military tents and clothing, decommissioned mail bags, truck upholstery, and repurposed parachutes — redesigning them into garments, bags, rugs, and home goods and bringing new life to the materials. Items are made in small batches to keep overproduction minimal and each run intentional.
